You always find them in the last place you look.

Obviously.

Because once you find them, you stop looking.

But there’s usually a five-minute window before that

where you are thoroughly convinced

they have vanished from the physical universe.

You check the couch cushions three times

as if a new reality might have rendered them there since the last check.

Quiet Warrior,

just because you can’t see the answer right now

doesn’t mean it was erased.

It’s usually just sitting exactly where you left it,

waiting for you to look with quieter eyes.
